Oxford Street Dental is a family and cosmetic dental clinic in Leederville, Western Australia. Located just 10 minutes’ drive from the Perth CBD, the clinic has been serving the Leederville community (& surrounds) since 2008. We’re a Medibank Members’ Choice & HCF ‘More for Teeth’ provider, which means members get more money back!
Today, the clinic is owned by Perth-born dentist Dr Aran Moorthy. Aran practices in the clinic along with the existing staff, dentists Dr Mark Gee, Dr Monica Hernandez and Dr Jason Tang and a close team of nursing and admin staff.
Recently, the clinic has undergone some exciting new changes, with not only additional new staff, but new x-ray units, new OPG and even new dental chairs fitted with ultra-luxury memory foam!
Oxford Street Dental has a sister dental business, Mills Road Dental, which you can see here!
Oxford Street Dental offer the complete suite of general dental services, with a focus on:
Born and bred in Perth, Dr Aran Moorthy has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide, and has been practicing in WA for many years. Aran was a Christchurch Grammar boy who, after graduating, headed to Adelaide University to obtain his dentistry degree. After graduating, he returned to his hometown and has been working in Perth dental clinics ever since.
Aran is an avid sports fan with his favourites being AFL and basketball. And when it comes to keeping fit, he loves to box it out in the ring (or take a little trek to Everest Base Camp)!
Dr Monica Hernandez, Dentist
Monica originally received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from her hometown Bogota, in Colombia. Today, she also holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Certificate (General Dentistry) from the Australian Dental Council.
Monica performs all general dentistry services but her favourite area of dentistry is cosmetic dentistry – and cosmetic injectables. She regularly participates in the latest cosmetic dentistry courses and is always looking for ways to improve her technique.
Monica says the best thing about working at the clinic is the teamwork and the friendly, reliable staff.
When she’s not working, Monica loves keeping herself busy with her family, which includes two energetic teenage boys. A self-described foodie, she loves to explore new ways of cooking and eating healthy meats and foods.
Monica says her biggest indulgence is her children! And, she notes, her passion for trying to achieve excellence in dentistry!
Dr Jason Tang, Dentist
Dentist Jason Tang joined our team in mid-2017 and has been a valued member ever since.
With a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of WA, Jason can perform all aspects of dentistry, including his two favourite areas – general and restorative dental.
Originally from Malaysia, Jason now loves spending time with his family, playing basketball and (best of all) taking his daughters out for a treat.
Dr Mark Gee, Dentist
Mark has a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of WA and is an MICDI member.
He performs all types of general cosmetic dentistry, including digital dentistry, working with CAD and CAM machines, making CEREC crowns and creating bridgework and dentures. Mark is the best thing about working at the clinic is the great team – always relaxed yet caring.
When he is not working, you can find him at the beach with his dog, being an eternal uni student (he’s studying at UWA) and spending time with his family.
Mark said his favourite indulgence is relaxing with a good book – or someone that’s read one!
Dr Suhail Wardak, Dentist
Suhail has completed an undergraduate degree in Science with honours at The University of Melbourne & postgraduate degree in Dental Medicine at UWA. He enjoys building meaningful relationships with his patients & sharing in the transformation effect that dental treatment and education can have.
Dr Nick Albatis, Dentist
Lisa Geer, Oral Health Therapist/Hygienist
We like to say “prevention is better than cure”. That’s why we encourage everyone to book in for a regular scale and clean. And when you do, you’re likely to meet Lisa, our dental hygienist.
Local born Lisa has A Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from our very own Curtin University. She performs many of our preventative dental treatments as well as caring for those with gum disease issues.
When she’s not working, Lisa likes cooking, eating delicious meals and catching up with friends!
Angie Gee, Dental Assistant
As our head nurse, Angie assists the dentist with all procedures as well as caring for the comfort of the patients. And, Angie reminds us, being a team member is also an important (and fulfilling) part of the job.
Originally from London, Angie says that without a doubt, the team of fantastic people she works with – and the wonderful group of patients – is what makes her love her job.
Her favourite indulgence? Travelling and adventure.
Qhama (Clique) Ndibongo,
Clique has a Certificate III and IV in Dental Assisting from the West Australian Institute of Further Studies.
As a dental assistant, her duties involve assisting the dentist in day-to-day activities such as set-up, clean-up, chair-side assistance, caring for the patient and making them comfortable.
Originally from South Africa, Clique says the best thing about working at the clinic is meeting new people and learning about where they came from. And, just like the rest of the team, she loves that she works in an environment that feels like family!
When not working, you can find her reading, writing her blog and spending time with family. Her weakness is chocolate – and travel.
Warm, caring, and a multitasking wiz, Shelleigh has a passion for the dental industry and a love for caring for our patients.
At the clinic, you’ll find her providing chair-side assistance, performing sterilisation, delivering patient education, and a whole lot more. Her favourite areas of dentistry are cosmetic and crowns, and in her spare time she loves spending time with her son.
Hailing from South Africa, Cindy completed her Certificate III in dental assisting in Perth. Her favourite dental focuses are surgical, cosmetic and preventative dental care, but the best part of the job for Cindy is patient care. When she’s not working? You’ll find her binge watching movies or going out to eat!
Front Office Coordinator
Rami has a Bachelor Degree in Banking and Finance from Murdoch University. Originally born in Sri Lanka, she moved to Perth when she was a child. Rami joined Oxford Street Dental in 2016, and already, she’s a much-appreciated member of the team due to her gentle nature and efficient manner at the front desk.
She enjoys getting to know all the patients and their families and following their care. And, speaking of family, Rami says her favourite part of working for the clinic is supporting her brother Aranan, dentist and owner of Oxford Street Dental.
