Custom Sports Mouthguards in Leederville

Sports Mouthguards for kids and adults

Protect your teeth & jaw…

Don’t risk seriously damaging your (or your child’s) teeth while playing sport. Custom-made mouthguards for kids, teens and adults are the only type of mouth guards that provide significant oral protection against direct impact and injury during sporting activities.

Boil and bite mouthguards  – commonly sold over-the-counter in pharmacies and supermarkets – may be far cheaper, but they offer little protection, leaving you or your child potentially vulnerable to a lifetime of unnecessary pain, dental problems and expense.

Every year, thousands of Australian adults and children are treated for preventable dental injuries – purely because they were not wearing a custom mouthguard. According to the Australian Dental Association (ADA), often people are injured playing sports that aren’t necessarily deemed high impact. This is why the ADA adheres to the motto: “Play it safe, wear a mouth guard”.

Non-contact sports

A mouthguard is highly recommended where there’s risk of ‘accidental collision’:

1. Book an appointment

You’ll need to see one of our Dentists or Oral Health Therapist so they can assess your teeth and jaw, discuss your sport and recommend the right type of sports mouth guard for you.

2. Have an impression taken

Your dentist or OHT will take an impression of your teeth and create a plaster model that will be used to create your mouthguard. Then depending on your sport, the dentist will make the mouthguard to a particular thickness.

3. Pick up your mouthguard

A few of days later, simply visit to the clinic to pick up your mouthguard.

TIP: Always keep your mouth guard in a safe place but if you lose it, we can easily replace it as we keep your model safe here in the clinic.
